Newsroom AI Lab adds three new partners + journalism jobs and opportunities
Bellingcat, Prison Journalism Project and Trusting News join Newsroom AI Lab
Hacks/Hackers’ Newsroom AI Lab is expanding to add three new partners: Bellingcat, Prison Journalism Project and Trusting News. The Lab helps small- and mid-sized news organizations build capacity in order to scope, evaluate and manage technical journalism projects involving AI.

National Journalism and AI Accelerator (Jan 6–8, 2026 | Phoenix, Arizona)
Hosted by the Knight Center for the Future of News at Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and NEWSWELL and with support from Hacks/Hackers, this invite-only national gathering of journalists and AI leaders will explore how artificial intelligence will redefine how trusted news and information is created, distributed, supported and sustained. Participation is by application only and intentionally limited to foster exchange, learning and collaboration.
The application deadline is Monday, November 10, 2026.
